FOBTY

I'm a horrible blogger! This month, because I have more free time than I've had in a good while, I'm determined to earn my Sweet Rewards points at the Sweet Shoppe.

Last month we took a great family road trip. One of our favorite destinations was Hueco Tanks. I haven't been since I was a teenager ( long, long ago!) ) We had a wonderful time. We had a great guide, he was so knowledgeable and made the day even more fun and interesting than I knew it could be. We hiked, climbed, found pottery, pictographs and even 19th century graffiti .

Here's just one view...

A Sticky Situation

Okay, I've had plenty of thoughts of posting but no motivation to actually follow through. The blogosphere bar is set pretty darn high, and well, I'm just not that interesting. LOL

Not long ago I came across this great tutorial for StickyNote books. It's such an easy, quick project and fairly practical too. It transfers very well to the digital/hybrid craft. You can find the tutorial here at the Greeting Arts blog (thank you!)

I only had the tiny pads and the larger 3x5 pads on hand so I used them. After my first try with scrap paper, and a few "oohs" and "ahhs" from my girls, I decided to personalize them digital style and printed them out on cardstock. After I they were finished, I decided to adhered the pads to the cover, I'm not sure if the original tutorial suggested that or not but it worked better for us. I have a printer/scanner/copier that 95% of the time is just fine but I can only print 8x10, I didn't have quite enough space for two per page so I filled in the bare spots with some tags and printed strips. I'm also not opposed to using the back sides of old paper to cut down on waste.

If you're interested in this project I've created a template for a digital version you can download here

Entering the blogosphere

Even though I've sworn to myself that I wouldn't....I'm here. I've sucked it up and joined everyone else on the planet and started a blog. Isn't it pretty? Zoe Pearn at Sweet Shoppe has these awesome blog packages, basically "plug and play", which is perfect for code challenged people like moi. ( Thanks You!! )

My fantabulous designers have hooked me up with some great goodies recently. Aside from getting my blog going I managed to squeeze in some time and got a few layouts done this weekend. I've had a hard time lately squeezing in the time and have had a few cases of creative block as well. It felt really good to add a few pages to the gallery.
